Elisabetta Franchi – A New Generation of Italian Designers
A Passion for More than Fashion
The modern Italian technique and high professionalism are behind the world wide interest in Elisabetta Franchi’s creative designs. It is not only her female delicate touch that distinguishes her designs, but her ethical manners as well. Elisabetta was born and raised in Bologna, Italy. She showed an interest in fashion in an early age. After she completed her studies at the Aldrovandi-Rubbiani Institute, she opened her first workshop 1996, where she began to craft her first designs with a team of 5. Today the company oversees a staff of over 250 people. Elisabetta Franchi’s collections are sold in over than 1.100 multibrand stores around the world, and more than 70 monobrand Boutique. Recently, Elisabetta has become to be a world fashion designer, whose shows are focal point of fashion followers.
Since an early stage in her career, Elisabetta adopted a special strategy and Italian concept of quality, excellence and care for details. Elisabetta’s designs adhere to the ‘Fur-Free Program’, a project held in collaboration with LAV (Anti- Vivisection Coalition), geared toward the elimination of garments containing animal fur. Elisabetta went on mixing her love of fashion and animals by supporting such coalitions and outreach initiatives through her works, such as “EF Loves Dogs” collection in 2015, that part of the revenues went to animal protection organizations.
This blend of quality, creation and ethical awareness reoccurs in the Italian brand’s FW2016-2017 collection inspired by the magic of the Cirque du Soleil. The collection included circus tent-inspired geometric patterns, animalier prints, sequins and animal free items, where Elisabetta tended towards using bright and shiny colors with her original excellent modern touch showing on all her creations.
