Special interview of the Designer for the greece magazine

MADAME FIGARO (Greece), April 2017

WOMAN OF STYLE

Italian finesse and ethical fashion are the base of the philosophy of the designer Elisabetta Franchi, who built a mighty fashion brand in one decade.

  1. How would you describe the style of Elisabetta Franchi?

Exclusive and personal. The brand’s philosophy emphasizes women’s personality in a unique way. We focus on detail and we invest on fabric quality and expertise to create garments as well as accessories.

  2. The summer collection is inspired by the ’80s. What type of woman did you have in mind?

I don’t have a specific muse, even if I still remain enchanted by the timeless charm of Jacqueline Kennedy. Surely I had in mind a sensual and transgressive, but never vulgar woman.

  3. What helped you most in becoming where you are today?

Determination, constant improvement desire and hard work. I’ve never lost sight of my goal. Fashion is in my DNA, it was my dream when I was a child and I used to dress up my dolls; now it is reality.

  4. The most important moment of your career ?

The first SS15 Fashion Show during the Milan Fashion Week. A fashion show is something you had only in your mind and finally it becomes reality.

  5. What’s the most stressful moment of a fashion show?

The fashion show itself, you are always afraid that something negative could happen.

  6. Which designer/s do you admire and with whom would you like to collaborate?

Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana. I like the strong identity, femininity and sensuality that their collections communicate.

    1. A fashion rule every woman should live by?

      Never exaggerate!

    2. What has changed in fashion due to the economic crisis?

The final customer’s demand. Customers are much more aware and careful. Therefore, it is necessary to be coherent and to have a strong identity.

    3. What advice would you give to yourself at the beginning of your career?

To have passion and a great sense of sacrifice. And not let anyone change my goals.

10.Having eliminated animal fur, animal feathers and angora wool from your collections, what’s the cost you have to pay to create ethical fashion?

No sacrifice or price to pay when it comes to supporting animals and giving them a voice.

    11. What is your relation with the social media?

I am always connected with my profile. I follow friends, websites or pages about animals and little else.

The Elisabetta Franchi collection is available at Eponymo stores and selective stores around Greece.
