EURO, DOLLARS AND… FRANCHI

Founder of the ideal feminine PRÊT-À-PORTER line, fashion designer, strategist – Elisabetta Franchi is one of the most successful and stylish Italian woman. Her pragmatic approach to the fashion industry, a total dedication to creativity and an ambition for uncompromising quality – all of that created Italian brand Elisabetta Franchi. International press calls her «cre-active». We are going to explain why

Italian temperament. Elisabetta Franchi well known as very vigorous, strong woman. In addition to developing the collection Elisabetta oversees the distribution process, the marketing and the trends research. Businesswoman, whose house in 2012 income reached 103 million euros, is proud of the fact that a most part of the collection is sold in Italy and only 30% of exclusive accessories and clothing are distributed abroad.

Childhood dream. “Since childhood I had a dream – to create an interesting collection and to surround myself with beauty. Women’s universe is filled with style and creativity, and I am a pragmatist. Therefore, the fashion was for me the only means of self-expression. I was born in 1968 in Bologna, in a large family with five children … Ilovedtodressupmydolls. On them I spent my first fashion experiments. My debut as a designer was during my studies at the Istituto Aldrovandi Rubbiani. I was working several jobs to pay for courses – I gained invaluable experience. A pragmatism, a quick eye and an attention to customers became the foundationof the company. My first atelierwas opened in 1996 and was called Le Complici. I had only 5 tailors (now in Elisabetta Franchi company work more than 150 craftsmen – Note. Ed.) but we’ve been very interested to watch the develop of our ideas and the first collections. That time taught me to read customers and street-style trends. After 2 years, I have launched a collection of clothes CELYN b.  B – is the Betta, the abbreviation of my name.  The basis of the collection was feminine style, smooth cut lines for women with shapes and classic silhouettes. ”

Industry.“I do not follow trends. For me it’s enough to dream in the power of beauty and femininity. You can be pretty and womanly but hereby have a strong self-confidence and inner strength. In my life I often had to struggle… For achieving in life you have to be clarified with your own goal and be sure that you are worthy of getting a great result. There is no place for doubt in the fashion world. “ 

Philosophy. Over the years, Franchi acquired his own signature style. Traditional Italian quality, craftsmanship, invaluable experience and knowledge of the industry – these are the values that have become the standard for each product by Elisabetta Franchi and welcomed designer into luxury world. “I chose a very specific audience of women for whom I wanted to create my collections. It does not matter they are 17 or 50 years – their wardrobe can instantly create the desired look. First of all I listen to myself. I think, first of all a woman should adore herself. “ 

The creative process. A market research, new textiles, a traditional decorative techniques and a prototyping future collections with the utmost attention to detail is part of the production in Bologna. The ideas of Maison are realized by Italian craftsmen and artisans.

 

TERMS OF STYLE ELISABETTA FRANCHI
• «I was always impressed by the sensuality of Marilyn Monroe and Jacqueline Kennedy’s grace. I think that the main thing is to be abide by the chosen style. Even today, my basic wardrobe includes white shirt and trousers with a high waist.

 

Made in Italy. ” At the heart of the collection – the constant pursuit of perfection. Physically, this is expressed in the fittings and in the attention to every detail. Clothing and accessories from Elisabetta Franchi are really unique and elegant, and the quality of such items is the symbol of the label “Made in Italy”.

“Spring-Summer 2015″. The new collection was called Fairy Tale and the Gate an partly inspired by Ar-Deco époque. In the decorative elements are clearly seen geometric shapes of diamonds. The main colors of the collection are bronze and gold, the color of the oil, and several shades of beige, combined with red. “Red is the color of a woman.”

Accessories. The main accessory of the  collection is mini bag.  “Personally, I adore maxi bag in which you can put all your life, from the daily newspaper to the beloved dog. Another interesting for me accessory is always mini clutch witch is big enough only for the phone and the lipstick.

Atelier.  In 2006, Frank bought the old building of the pharmaceutical companies, and two years after it became the head-office of the Italian brand. Today, the Italian House is located in Milan in the Tortona 9 street.

Pets. “I love animals. I have five dogs. In our office there is a competition, humanity and love – the main elements of a friendly team. Therefore, there are days when employees are allowed to bring to work their pets. In the corporate world, we are also active members of the Fur Free Retailer Program ».

Hobbies. “I love Italian cinema, but my most favorite movie is” The Great Gatsby “with Leonardo DiCaprio. And my reference book – “The Horse Whisperer” by Nicholas Evans. “
